DIY Gothic Water Candles – Frozen inspired | Mika chan Sailor

Hey everyone, welcome back! but in case you randomly
just clicked on this video, hello, i’m Mika nice to meet you and the name of the channel is Mika chan Sailor and today we’re crafting again! Today we’re making majestic stalactite
looking candles, so let’s begin for this DIY we will be using melted
wax, along with some old candles you’d like to reuse, The wax needs to be in its
liquid form, to achieve that I’m heating it in a double boiler but it’s perfectly
okay to use a microwave oven I placed a cloth piece under the jar to keep it
from vibrating and kept stiring until it was completely liquefied moving on, as a base for my candle
I’m using a jar lid you guys must know by now how much I like jars! put a few
drops of melted wax on the lid as glue to make the candle really stick onto it and
instead of a jar lid you can use a small plate or you know anything else you have. and this next part is where the fun begins! fill your sink or a decent size container with water, pour some wax on the lid and dip it into the water the wax will instantly harden and take
gorgeous shapes! different techniques will give you different results you can keep pouring while you’re
dipping or the plate can be rotated to twist the wax! experiment with how much you need to pou each time, you definitely don’t need too much because something like this will
happen it may look cool but it won’t hold the shape ftheir shape for long the wax may float on the surface and the part that hasn’t touched the water may still be runny and hot it will keep changing shapes as
you move it! please note that candle making can be
dangerous and messy so protect your working area and be careful but most
importantly if you’re underage ask someone to help you. this is hands down the most fun DIY I’ve
ever did! can spend hours and hours I could spend hours and hours watching it doing its magic! this would be amazing as a centerpiece for halloween! especially if you can find wax in
black, I searched for it but it seems as though all the shops in my area have like an anti-gothic theme going on, Idk or blue, for a frozen themed birthday party, that would be awesome too! and it burns beautifully and it will
keep changing its shape as it burns! so remember if you decide to recreate this
or any DIY shown here on my channel to use the #sailordiy
’cause you know I’d love to see if you want to you can follow me on my
social media all the links are in the description down below and let me know
in a comment what’s your favorite thing about Halloween and if you have
any special traditions cause we don’t have Halloween here and I’m very curious to
know about all the little things so make sure to give this video a like if you
liked it and subscribe so YouTube will notify you when the next one is going to
be thank you so much for watching and i’ll see you very very soon!

  41. beautiful! Halloween I love Halloween. I used to do all kinds of thing when I was younger. My Dad and I once did a haunted cemetery in the front yard. He cut out some of the gravestones from plywood. Then we made old looking crosses from discarded fences that people were throwing away. Just don't store near your house in case of termites. Those we tossed afterwards.
This was a couple decades ago. But we were the ones who started the plastic bags made into ghosts thing. My Dad had the idea to take white trash bags stuff a bottom corner with old newspaper and then use his tree trimmer to grab branches and pull them down to tie the bags too. Before that there were no plastic bag ghosts to be found. We had tons of people driving by just to see our house. Apparently they asked different stores where to find the ghosts because the next year you could find some and in the following years they took over.
I would absolutely love to do all that again. Only this time I'd put out spooky water candles on the graves.
A different year my dad built a witches house out of old fence wood a fake cauldron dry ice and my big teddy bear as the witch. It was cool but these candles would have let it an ambience that couldn't be beat. That was the year we had a Halloween party. These would be so cool. Probably a bigger hit than our unbreakable spider pinata. Ooohh we could have glued one to the top of the spiders back. That would have looked wicked even unlit. we could have even put a brown one on the drunken cowboy grave. Basically my Dad made a cross marker. Then half buried a grubby cowboy hat, a pair of gloves and an old pair of cowboy boots. Then when he found a empty whiskey bottle just outside the fence he threw that onto it.
I'm going to have to make some of these for my porch this year. Wish I could talk the apartment manager into holding a decoration contest. Maybe I'll ask her. I bet she'd like some of these for the office too.

  42. You can use sturdy metal wire to make a circle base that you can clamp the lid onto using paper clips, and the the rest of the wire can be made into a long handle. Then you can hold the candle by the handle with one hand and pour the wax with your other hand, so you don't need someone else to help you. (Sorry if my English is bad)

  43. This would look amazing in my room, my rooms really gothic with like old timey paintings and taxidermy.

  57. Black wax is used for black magic and for spiritual reason is probably the reason why you can't find it.

  58. That was soooo cool. I have never seen candle wax do that before.ย  If I had known this years ago when my kids were little we would have 3 had so much fun.ย  I will be passing this link on to my daughters.ย  Thank you so much.ย  So for our Halloween family ideas we would use lots of glow in the dark spider webs and put them everywhere.ย  We also made a small cemetery in our yard with a spooky fence around it and flowers in it.ย  My kids and I would also donate can food to the Christian Service Center in town to give back to the community.
