New Colorado law won’t allow holding inmates at request of immigration authorities


Colorado tonight starting in August anyone suspected a being in the country illegally cannot be kept in jail at the request of federal immigration officials unless they’re executing a warrant from a judge as we previously reported the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office was sued last year for holding inmates for ice and a judge ruled that the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office could not hold inmates past their release dates ice called the new law irresponsible saying quote criminals will now be returned to the streets of Colorado with tragic future consequences
