The Winter Paralympics torch relay has kicked
off with a week to go before the main event begins. The flame was lit in 5 different locations
around the nation — in Gochang, Cheongdo, Anyang, Nonsan and Jeju Island. The torches will tour these areas until they
arrive in Seoul tomorrow evening, and are joined together as one. It will be first time the Paralympic torch
has been in the Korean capital in 30 years, since the 1988 Games. Over the next 7 days, it’ll be carried by
some 8-hundred runners, including current and former Olympic and Paralympic athletes,
and members of the public.
