Rocky Mountain College holds annual candle light dinner


in January of 1910 college students made the trip from downtown Billings towhatis nowRockyMountainCollege now thepower was out so they ate a cold dinner by candlelighttocelebrate the openingof their new campus well tonight morethana century later Rocky MountainCollegeheld its 110th candlelightdinner the traditionremember torememberthosewho were there at whatwas onceability’s Billings PolytechnicInstitute and today the dinner honors alumni and others who have contributedto rocky over the decadesit’s part ofthe rockyspirit you know to takesomethingandmake itgreat so many ofthese historic buildingson Rocky’scampus were built by the studentssothey wereactually paid to bring some ofthe sandstone down and I think it’s tryingto capture that tradition andkeep those memoriesa lot you can almostfeel allof the people of thepast whohave made rocky what it is todaytheir spirit aliveand well in thisbuildingand around this campusthecandle light dinner celebrates 100 10 years Rocky’s roots go back 141 years to 1878 at its beginningsin Deer Lodge andHelena
